Job Description
Qualys is looking for highly skilled and motivated engineers to join their innovative team. The successful candidate will work on the next generation of Qualys Technology Platform, contributing to the design, development, and support of a highly scalable cloud security platform. This role involves prototyping, designing, and developing cutting-edge solutions using open-source technologies to meet enterprise security business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, prototype, and develop innovative solutions to enhance the Qualys technology platform.
- Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance microservice-based applications.
- Produce high-quality software adhering to scalable architecture and design principles.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
- Document code, design, and provide technical solutions.
Qualifications
Requisite Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Excellent programming and design skills in Java, with 2-4 years of professional experience developing applications using Spring Boot and microservices.
- Good understanding of relational databases and/or NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra.
- Professional experience with indexing technologies like Elasticsearch and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and application design.
- Professional experience in developing software using microservices-oriented architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Professional experience with Jenkins and Kubernetes.
- Experience with stream processing technologies like Apache Flink or Spark (good to have).
- Hands-on experience with message queues like Kafka is a significant plus.
Skills And Experience
- Java: Strong programming and design skills in Java.
- Microservices: Experience developing applications using microservices-oriented architecture.
- Databases: Good understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, especially Cassandra.
- Indexing & Caching: Experience with Elasticsearch, Redis, or Memcached.
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
- Stream Processing: Knowledge of Apache Flink or Spark is advantageous.
- Messaging: Experience with Kafka is a plus.
